About the event
It’s a mad world out there, although it is where we belong—which is to say, in life, in relationship, not isolated from it. But stable, grounded spaces of belonging and vulnerability among men are rare. Training fields where men can say “I don’t know” and “I need help” without being judged—and in fact, being embraced in weakness—are needed. Especially when handling graduate level spiritual teaching that mercilessly exposes how personality automates and hijacks everyday behavior. So together we will create conditions within which to 1. Face head-on the mechanics in play that keep us asleep in life, and 2. Approach an experience of real Being—of the peace, demand, and nourishment available from that which is higher than ourselves.
We are at Claymont Court in West Virginia in December, to explore and practice with other men the ideas, skills, contemplative exercises and essential tools of the system brought by G.I. Gurdjieff. Plus manual work, movements, feasting and other conditions to make your spirit stand up.
Suggested Contribution: $850 (Scholarship is available).
Arrive: Wednesday, December 2nd, 2026 by 5pm. Dinner is followed by an opening meeting.
Depart: Sunday, December 6th, 2026, 10am
Rooms: Double occupancy in a historic mansion built by some (George) Washingtons.
Travel: Dulles is the nearest major airport, and just under an hour away from Claymont. Please schedule departure flights for 2pm or later.
Notes: Fee covers room, board, merch if available and all materials. Price may not be used as an excuse not to attend as we have generous scholarship assistance available. You may request roommate/s. Dietary needs are always met; we cook all of our own food, and it is very, very good. Phones, smart watches and screens of any kind are surrendered for the duration of the event; please plan accordingly.
